Sustainable procurement policy

Last updated:

KEF Endüstriyel's Sustainable Purchasing Policy is based on the principles set out in all our other policies.

Our purchasing policy is to act in accordance with the law and ethical rules at every stage of procurement; not to procure threatened species; not to discriminate on the basis of religion, language, race, gender, sexual orientation or physical ability among the organisations and people involved; to respect the rights of supplier and subcontractor employees; to give priority to local suppliers for environmental and economic reasons; and to require our suppliers and subcontractors to act in accordance with the law and ethical rules as well, so that this approach spreads, strengthens and endures throughout the entire supply chain.

To achieve this, we expect our suppliers to share our core principles in this area and to work with us to develop them in a spirit of continuous improvement. We encourage constructive feedback for continuous improvement and the systematic sharing of good practices in this area with us.

Our priorities

  • Ensuring that all operations in our supply chain are conducted lawfully and ethically.

  • Building sincere, honest, respectful, fair, impartial and transparent business relationships with all our suppliers without discrimination; ensuring that all procurement activities, including supplier selection, are conducted fairly; and fulfilling our obligations to our suppliers on time.

  • Setting an example to the stakeholders in our supply chain in sustainability and corporate social responsibility, and building a sustainable supply chain culture for the environment and society.

  • Working with our suppliers on continuous improvement and encouraging them to share feedback and good practices.

  • Working with suppliers who respect society and the environment and are mindful of climate change; who carry out energy efficiency, resource conservation, waste reduction, reuse and recovery activities; who use their resources effectively and in harmony with nature; who work on managing waste, gas emissions and toxic substances; and who comply with all environmental and energy laws and standards and strive to go beyond their requirements.

  • Working with suppliers who create a fair working environment for their employees; who do not discriminate on the basis of language, race, gender, political opinion, philosophical belief, religion, sect or similar grounds; who value equal opportunities for women and men; who arrange working conditions for pregnant or breastfeeding women in accordance with the law; who value their employees' ideas and involve them in continuous improvement; who protect their employees' rights to personal integrity and to unionise; who prevent forced or compulsory labour; who do not employ child labour; and who comply with all applicable laws and regulations on employment and working life.
